PR Assistant (1 Year Placement)

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Reporting to: European PR Manager

About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to join TOMY for a year’s placement. You will be working closely with the European PR Manager to launch toys and nursery products in the UK and implement PR strategies across the European territories.

It is a fast paced and varied role in a lively, friendly office working on fantastic brands. One minute you will be promoting the world’s smallest bipedal humanoid robot, i-Sobot and showcasing your air guitar moves with Guitar RockStar. Next you will be getting creative with the best selling Aquadraw range while keeping Thomas & Friends on track and dancing with the Teletubbies.

You will be a brand ambassador for TOMY’s award winning range of baby monitors, ergonomically designed baby carriers and innovative nursery accessories.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the European PR Manager across all products
  • Facilitating a busy press office
  • Developing great relationships with journalists
  • Brainstorming new ideas, drafting press releases and pitching stories
  • Organising events and product launches

We are seeking a bright, highly motivated, self- starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need a genuine interest in the toy and nursery industry.

Key Account Manager

Location: Tomy UK

Reporting to: National Account Controller

Role Profile: You will take full commercial responsibility for an existing established key account base within the Toy Industry valued at around £3M at retail.

The candidate: The successful candidate will have strong commercial judgment, excellent planning, forecasting and communication skills with an ability to look beyond short term business challenges. An understanding of pricing and ranging strategies will be highly beneficial. This is a fully autonomous role with potential for good development and progression.

Product Designer, NPD Europe

Location: Tomy UK

Reporting to: European Head of Design and Development

Role Profile: You will conceptualise and product product ranges for a variety of ages working from the European Marketing Brief, project manage pruducts from conception through development and engineering stages to shipment and maintain the schedul of each product and keep the team up to date in weekly meetings.

Measurement Criteria:

  • Having all information and models/visuals organised and ready for each European Working Group and European Line Reviews.
  • Timely delivery of Products.
  • Milestone data to be up to date.
  • Quality of the information provided to the vendor in the form of timely feedback and Engineering Hand-overs.
  • Final project budget and target project budget differences.

Junior Quality Assurance Technologist

Location: Totton

Reporting to: European Quality Assurance Manager

Role Profile:

  • Ensuring all new product development for those lines assigned are in line with QA policies and proceedures
  • Ensure all new products assiged have complete technical files including test certification
  • Compile product specific Test Specification, including Tomy's Corporate Quality Standards and relevant European legislation
  • Ensure compliance of the Tomy Europe Test Specification by in-house testing and processing of suppliers own testing
  • Brief, check and approve the legislative, safety and quality aspects of artworks for new product development, product refreshes and artwork amendments
  • Gather, record & disseminate data as required

Measurement Criteria:

  • Development and approval of new products to NPD schedules
  • Complete technical files at ATS
  • Test Specifications completed accurately and verified by testing at ATS
  • Accurate and timely data gathering and processing
  • Artwork meets legislative, safety and quality requirements
  • Returns and complaints data
